Merchant Verification
Given all in-store applications will have a personal element to them, this provides everyone with an additional layer of security allowing retailers to feed into the decision making process.
As part of the customer identity verification process, once the necessary information has been provided, they will be presented with a screen titled Merchant Verification. At this point they should hand the device back to the retailer.
When the retailer takes control, a number of statements will be displayed on screen. It’s at this point the retailer has an opportunity to review and confirm the customer's identity documentation, by selecting all statements that appear to be true, best to the retailer's knowledge.
To help with the statement selections, and to help reduce the likelihood of fraud, depending on the identity document provided, please verify the photo likeness to the customer, the address matches the billing address, and the customer name matches the name on the application before proceeding.
Once you’ve completed this step you should return the device to the customer so they can submit their application.
